Fake electrical wires are becoming rampant now a days, its considered stealing. Companies try to advertise their products and to try to show quality in them, but these “Robbers”  try to steal and profit from these, regardless of safety concerns, that cause fire.

Be careful in buying products that sell below market value products, it may be faked…

Just a tip to know if the wire you purchased is a fake:

Tip#1

A real copper in its true form should look like this:

99.9% copper

A fake copper will most likely look like this:

Its not pure copper, it is made up of aluminum or any metal rod, with copper like metal wrappings…

So look at its cross section to see the non-copper aluminum inside.

Tip#2

A lot of them can be test by using a magnet, a real copper cannot be magnetized.

Tip#3

Check the label of the wire if its written clearly and legible…

Tip#4

Check the box, you can distinguish a fake from the real one, by looking at its box…

Tip#5

The PVC covering or the plastic of a wire, should be touch enough to not break well pulled by hand.

Tip#6

The PVC should be Fire retardant meaning difficult to burn, or when tested with a lighter it will catch fire, but if you remove the lighter or the fire, the fire should immediately stop.

Stranded wire should be twisted to the left not right or loosely
